Administrative Bylaws
The department offers graduate study in each of the subdisciplines of anthropology: archaeology, linguistic anthropology, biological anthropology, and social anthropology. Specialized training is available in evolution of primate and human behavior, behavioral ecology of nonhuman primates, cultural evolution, human evolution, hunter-gatherers, North American prehistory, language and gender, archaeological theory, identity politics, critical theory, culture/power/ideology, gender and society, political economy/ecology, and urban anthropology. The Ph.D. program is designed to develop a distinguished level of attainment in a specific subdiscipline, with emphasis on theory and research methods.
