Professors For the Future Fellowship Program

The Office of Graduate Studies is now accepting nominations for the 2010-2011 Professors for the Future Fellowship Program. Professors for the Future is a year-long program of professional development and mentoring designed to enhance the quality of the UC Davis graduate and postdoctoral experience. Fellows design and complete a project that benefits other graduate students or postdoctoral scholars on campus, participate in program-sponsored activities throughout the year, and receive a $3,000 stipend.
Nominations are now being accepted from faculty, staff, students and postdoctoral scholars. Selection of the 2010-2011 Professors for the Future Fellows will be based on the following criteria:
- Leadership potential and well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to enhance graduate education or the postdoctoral experience at UC Davis
- A demonstrated commitment to the academy and to scholarly pursuits
- Only candidates who will have successfully completed their qualifying examinations by the start off fall quarter 2010 are eligible
- Candidates will be required to attend PFTF meetings, participate in a professionalism course and a course on college teaching

The deadline for PFTF program applications is Monday, March 8, 2010 please send nominations in advance of this date to allow time for your nominee to gather letters of recommendation and complete his or her application.
